We got some new Fairdale goodies in stock today. Seats and headsets. Check them out!
Bike Biz asked me to write a little piece on how I transitioned from hardcore BMX dude into bikes with bigger wheels. I got slightly off subject and ended up writing more about how I managed to stay in love with bikes all these years. The whole mag is pretty awesome (aimed at the bicycle industry). Check out my story on page 11. View it online here or download a PDF version of the mag here. Thanks Bike Biz! -Taj
Over the past month I have found myself in a few amazing extra curricular activities that Fairdale fans may not know about. For the last 3 years I have helped put on the Texas Toast Jam and the 3rd edition went down a few weeks ago. Also, last week I helped out with the Redbull Urban Rhythm event as a ramp builder/ designer. Although none of these events were exactly Fairdale related it might be interesting to see some of the other things we get involved with over here at Fairdale. There’s a really cool documentary about Texas Toast from Odyssey BMX that is worth checking out.
Straight from the work bench of our factory mechanic Leif Valin brings you a write up on how to take care of your chain. This often overlooked component is so crucially important to your bike. Give it a little love and it will make your ride a whole lot nicer.
Your chain, cogs and chainring(s) are wonderful mechanical components that help propel you forward on your bicycle. A new fresh chain arrives clean and nicely lubed from the factory. Your cogs and chainwheels whirl happily along together, meshing perfectly like soulmated lovers in a fairy tale…
I’ve been waiting for the new Fairdale boxes to FINALLY show up at bike shops so people could see our new box design. As I can now show you one side has a layout so you can make your own rabbit mask.
The Foot Down put up a great review of the Weekender OG. If we can say anything about our bikes we’d like it to sound a bit like this: “This bike made my summer, I went places I never could have gone on my other bikes. In a single day I have taken it shopping with the rack on, commuted to work, cruised along the sea front and taken it into the wilds of Gower loaded up with camping gear. It’s a bike that does it all provided you don’t want to race, though you can drop a kid on an estate easily, little buggers.”
