Leif and Sam sent some photos from our Sea Otter trip a couple weekends ago. It looks like they had a good time exploring the area. Sam’s Goodship and Leif’s Rockitship are looking dialed as well.
This years Sea Otter Classic has come and gone. We all had a good time out there and enjoyed speaking with new and existing Fairdale fans. Thanks to everyone for stopping by.
We’re excited to show you the Fairdale Rockitship.
Shortly after launching the Goodship in 2014, we began getting requests for a version that would accommodate racks, fenders, and bigger tires. At our design office, we have to juggle our time between a lot of different projects so we decided to let the idea sit for a while, both so we could think about it, and also because we could see that options for disc brakes and 1x drivetrains were continuing to grow at a rapid pace.
Full Factory Distribution’s Sam Carlson recently built up a dialed new Surf Blue Goodship, complete with custom painted Enve stem & bottle cages courtesy of The Bicycle Stand. Thanks are in order to Matt Coplon at Profile Racing for the hubs as well. Click through the gallery for a closer look at this sweet ride.

Sandy is constantly up to something new and making things happen. Just this weekend, he ran his first marathon, and earlier this month, he launched his We Were There book project. Today, Dig BMX released an incredible feature on him on their website.
Click HERE to check out the feature and click HERE to learn more about his book. He has a few homey packages that are still up for grabs that include our Coaster and Weekender bikes!
In the fall of 2016 Fairdale had an opportunity to make road frames using custom drawn 3/2.5 titanium tube sets. Our initial thought was that it seemed like a fun R&D project to tackle, but that in the long run it probably wasn’t going to be very practical for Fairdale or our customers.
Titanium is a great material for high-performance bike frames, but the added cost is usually hard for us to justify over chromoly or aluminum when it comes time for production. However, since this would end up as very limited edition project, or maybe never even leave the prototype stages, we decide to go for it, knowing that it would still be an awesome learning experience.
In this video, Leif builds up a Surf Blue Goodship with a little help from some friends and a bunny. The bike turned out looking nice with the matching purple grip tape and water-bottle cages.
