Field Trip: RAGRBAIWe sent our co-worker Hershal Walker out to Iowa to ride the annual RAGBRAI ride. If you haven’t heard about RAGBRAI it’s the largest supported ride in the country (RAGBRAI= Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa). Some 7500 participants riding across the state of Iowa and camping each night.

Camping on the WeekenderIn an effort to test our new Weekender model as much as possible before full production I lent my personal steed out for the weekend. This gave the Weekender a chance to live up to its name and prove its stuff. Full Factory’s Logan and his pup Hershal took the bike and my Bob trailer […]

A look at our Design Director, Chris Cotsonas’ Goodship build. The Goodship is our steel road bike that Chris rides daily. It sits outside of our main line of bikes as a bit of a special project and explores some of our technical abilities in bicycle manufacturing.

He decked out this build with Chris King bits, an ENVE fork, and an assortment of parts that he knows and trusts.

He’s also running @odysseybmx OPTIS for road. The combination of higher volume tires with lower pressure and the support of a firmer OPTIS inflation has been serving him well. He’s also added @clikvalve to his OPTIS which makes keeping correct pressures a breeze.

Chris rode all through the blistering Austin summer and is surely grateful for some cooler winter temps on shade free roads like these.

Using a steel frame as a base for a collection of proven modern components yields an excellent ride. It’s interesting the way carbon and steel can compliment each other.

Our special Goodship frame is available now.

Ran into BMX legend @jasonenns at the skatepark and got him to do a few Canadians on my new Taj bike. Stoked to see the front brakes put to proper use.

The Taj is a 27.5” BMX bike for cruising around on, and still fun if your “cruise” takes you near the skatepark and dirt jumps. -Taj

Here’s a few Weekender builds, a Macaroni, and an Express that are all looking forward to meeting you.

A little behind the scenes of the little mascot art on the Goodship frames. I try to give each of the bikes a mascot of some kind. It adds a story and personality to the model. A character to guide the bike. -Taj

I wrote a little blog over on the internet (Fairdale site) if you’re interested in some of the behind the scenes here.

@fullfactory is our in-house sales team that sells Fairdale to bike shops. FF also brings @odysseybmx, @sundaybikes, @gsportbmx, and @bsdforever to bike shops in the USA. A bike shop can get anything and everything BMX along with Fairdale Bikes in one spot (and on one order).

The Fairdale Out of Step tee and bottle: I was obviously riffing on Minor Threat’s famous Out of Step album cover with this drawing. I see this scene play out in real life every time I go for a pedal… rolling through town with my eyes up enjoying the sights, but everyone around me has their head’s bowed–hypnotized by their phones. I do it myself of course, but these brief looks from my bike while outside my little screen’s control are refreshing. -Taj
