Welcome to Fairdale 2021! We’re excited to share all of our new bikes with you.
We are continuing to build on our goal to make great bikes for people who are seeking out the simple pleasure of just getting out there to enjoy a ride without any hassles or lofty expectations. Reliability, ease-of-maintenance, and fun are always the key starting points for our new lines. You can expect to see thoughtful touches employed throughout that have helped us to achieve our goals again.
An all-new model that you’ll be sure to notice is the Macaroni 24. This is a simple and reliable 24” design for kids 7-12 years old that is based on our original 20” Macaroni. These bikes are a joy to ride, and as always, they are easy for kids to maintain. You’ll also find freshly redesigned Flyers and Tajs that have been built around using rugged and fun 27.5” wheels. Our Lookfars and Flyers will be running on smooth SRAM 1x 8-speed shifting and have that familiar Fairdale styling that is sure to turn heads.
Some of our long-running favorites like the Weekender Archer and Nomad make use of bold new finishes on functional and adaptable frame designs. They can easily fit bigger tires and different wheel sizes. The Express is a classic, and it returns in a beautiful new finish with the stress-free simplicity we’re all fond of. Just like the rest of our 2021 lineup, it will leave you with an ear-to-ear smile every time you pedal out to town.
Built to last, we know that you’re going to love riding the new Fairdales. Have a great ride!
Vans invited me to a BMX Pro Cup event in Stuttgart, Germany. With a free trip on my hands I decided to try and make the travel interesting by turning it into a little adventure. I convinced Chris Cotsonas from Fairdale Bikes to come with me. I know he likes riding bikes in the Alps since he took me there for the first time a few years ago (Bicycling Magazine Fairdale France trip). Our plan was to ride “Over the Alps” and then pick up the Rhine River Cycleway. This is a popular cycling route that follows the Rhine River from its start high in the mountains, across Europe, and all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. We wouldn’t be able to ride the entire route, but our goal of making it to Stuttgart was not too far off the trail, and it seemed achievable.
We’re happy to officially introduce the limited edition Fairdale X Chocolate Skateboards Express collaboration bike. We started discussing this project in late 2018, and we are happy to finally release it to the masses.
The Chocolate crew took our Express model and gave it a Chocolate makeover, complete with custom decals, head tube badge and branded seat with the whole bike covered in the classic red that’s so connected with the brand. Most importantly, the Chocolate Express comes with the our popular skateboard rack setup, which is the best way to bring your board with you from point A to point B. Board not included.
The Chocolate Express will be available online at Crailstore.com starting at 11am on 10/12/19. In addition, the bike will be available at the Chocolate Pop Up Shop at Bodega in DTLA on 10/12 as well.
We had the pleasure of working with our friends at Bicycle Sport Shop in Austin on a collaborative Lookfar for the 2020 model year! Watch (and listen to) the video, then visit any of the Bicycle Sport Shop locations, they still have a few available.
At Fairdale we know that the essence of what’s great about bike riding is that exhilarating sense of freedom you feel from balancing on two wheels for miles at a time. Whether you’re sprinting to a city limit sign, or just leisurely coasting on a long, winding downhill, it’s a magical sensation that is somehow natural, intuitive and thoroughly enjoyable.
We keep the pursuit of that simple feeling in mind whenever we sit down to talk about making a new bike. For 2020 we’re introducing the Macaroni, our first bike for kids, and a freshly redesigned Weekender that allows for bigger tires and different wheel size options. You’ll also find some carefully selected upgrades on some of our most popular models. New 2020 bikes will be available early June.
We hope you’ll enjoy riding our bikes as much as we loved making them for you. Have a great ride!
