Sweet new idea for coating bikes (re-up) October 20, 2011

With the outstanding success of our new Dograck for animal lovers we thought it might be appropriate to repost our concept bikes for animal skin lovers. There are other ways to carry animal carcass’s on a bike you know.

Thanks to Bike Snob I learned about this rather startling $27,000 fixed gear bike.

This bike is completely covered in hand stitched “water buffalo leather”. Although water buffalo leather is undeniably classy I was thinking maybe we could accomplish some of the same type of thing for Fairdale on a slightly lower costs basis. We’re always trying to bring you the latest and greatest in bicycle technology, but we believe it should be affordable.

Our first offering is a Fairdale Rabbit covered bike. As you know we have millions of those rabbits running around here (usually holding signs and protesting something). After a quick visit to our taxidermist we were able to build this bike for only $20 more then a normal powder coating.

A few more potential offerings include a house cat covered bike (dirt cheap… they give those things away at the pound), and a slightly more exotic (though still surprisingly inexpensive) Texas Rattler bike.

We also updated the Fairdale headtube badge swan to be an actual stuffed chick. And, for high speed riders who must have the best we introduce the Land-Shark model.

Not to be outdone by some fancy pants New Yorkers or Londoners  Texas born Fairdale will also introduce a $35,000 Giraffe covered tandem bike. This species of Giraffe is very endangered and hanging by a thread to its limited edition existence. Hurry, not more then 120 of this bike will be made, unless these suckers finally start breeding. This bike should be at all your local bike shops by spring time.
