Taj’s Elevator
Our Elevator MTB frame has one of the shortest rear ends ever for a 29er. This trend-bucking feature makes the bike feel very lively. Easily pulling the front end up to manual or placing it where you want on rough terrain fits well with hardtail riding. And, with such an active frame, finessing the bike is the fun part. It is a different sensation than riding a modern full suspension bike that plows through the trail. On the Elevator any trail at any speed is entertaining.
I built up my Elevator frame with these parts:
Frame: Fairdale Elevator Large
Fork: Rock Show Lyric 140mm
Handlebar: Chromag OSX 35
Stem: Chromag Riza 35mm
Headset: FSA Orbit (the one that comes with the frame)
Brakes: SRAM DB8 (I like these brakes and prefer them to the more powerful Mavens I used to have).
Grips: Chromag Clutch (these are my favorite… wide enough for my hands).
Saddle: Some Specialized on the bike shop recommended.
Seat Post: One Up 210mm. I could easily fit a 240mm dropper on this frame.
Seat Clamp: Fairdale 35mm
Cranks: Odyssey Thunderbolt (the DJ size fits the Elevator) 170mm
Chainwheel: A BMX spider and a Wolf Tooth 32t chain ring that fits my SRAM flattop chain.
BB: Odyssey Euro for DJ spacing (73mm)
Pedals: Crank Bros Stamp 7 Large (love the feel of these)
Wheels: Reserve HD 30 29er wheels with XD driver carefully spray painted in my old BMX wheel gold/brass color
Tires: Maxxis DHF 29 x 2.5 in rear, Schwalbe Magic Mary 29 x 2.5 in front
Chain: SRAM flat top
Cassette: SRAM Eagle Transmission
Shift Lever: SRAM Eagle 90
Derailleur: SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission (love this thing!).
