Transmission for your Elevator

Our Elevator has a UDH rear axle, and so it is compatible with SRAM’s rather brilliant Transmission drivetrain. Leif and I have been running Transmission, or T-Type rear derailleurs for a few years now on our Elevators and we highly recommend them. The mechanical Eagle 90 is an especially robust and simple option that fits a hardtail like the Elevator very well.
I’ll let SRAM handle the setup instructions for the Eagle 90 with this video. It seems a bit obtuse the first time through: stick an Allen key in a hole, push some button, reverse thread a doo-dad, but it is actually extremely simple. One key thing, though: the Elevator’s super-short chain stays fall outside SRAM’s chain length calculator. Here’s what you need to know:
32t chainring: 112 chain links, set up position A on the 21t cog.
30t & 28t chainring: 110 links, set up position A on the 21t cog.

Enjoy yourselves! -Taj
