A Beautiful Weekender OG build from No Life Like This Life October 6, 2015
It is so flattering when someone customizes one of our bikes. I like seeing our bikes reborn in ways that I would never have imagined. It’s also great to know that someone likes the starting platform enough to pour all that extra time/money into the bike. No Life Like This Life just posted a really pretty Weekender OG build belonging to Tyler Scaife.
Daybirds at work in Austin as a rental fleet October 3, 2015
I should tell y’all sometime about the day I first set foot in Austin back in 1992. It was a life changer and a magical moment. I’ve been forever in love with riding bikes around that city because of it. I know not all cities are perfect for cycling, but pretty much year round Austin is better enjoyed by bicycle than any other means of transportation I can think of. Austin Bike Tours and Rental recently picked up a fleet of 30 Daybirds and put them to work. On a strictly personal level that is a such an awesome achievement for me! Fairdale exists because I fell in love with riding bikes around Austin… to see our bikes being lent out of strangers to experience some of what I love is the coolest thing I can imagine. View More
A story from Taj about why Fairdale started September 29, 2015
Some months ago The Ride Journal asked me to write a little story about Fairdale. Funnily enough they had seen our momentarily viral R+D video and wanted to know more about what we were all about. Though I expect they were hoping for something as goofy as that video I gave them a much more sincere version of “our story”. This ran in their mag a few months ago which you can download from Ride Journal. I imagined myself trying to explain my motivation for the brand to someone who didn’t know anything about Fairdale. -Taj
A Change of Gear by Taj
I want to keep my bicycle innocence. I want to walk a into a bicycle store and feel amazed by all the spaceship styled machines inside. When the salesman spots me lusting over the top of the line road bike I want to still feel bewildered when he tells me the “cross-weaved carbon-fiber lay-up” makes the bike so strong it’ll win the Tour de France (but don’t let it fall over because it’ll break if it lands on anything sharp). I want to remember the discouragement I feel when the mountain bike that looks like a motorcycle with no engine somehow costs more than a motorcycle WITH an engine. I want to remember what it feels like to not know anything about bikes… to just want to go for a ride.

#FairdaleFrance September 2, 2015
If you follow Fairdale on Instagram ( @fairdalebikes ) you might have noticed we were in France recently. 4 of us went over and rode a bunch of famous Tour de France climbs. The trip was truly mind blowing for all of us and we really want to tell you all about it. However, were in a bit of holding pattern right now as the story will be first published in Bicycling Magazine. We’re holding back a lot of great photos, stories and video but it will all be available soon. For what it’s worth, plan a trip to the French Alps now… what an amazing place to ride bikes! There is a great selection of instagram photos from the riders that will give you a bit of taste here: #fairdalefrance
The Radavist reviews The Goodship August 4, 2015
John Watson shot this photo and some other great ones of our Goodship for Andre Chelliah’s review on The Radavist.
Check out the review that contains excellent consumer advice like this, “What would I change on the bike? Not a lot. At $2999.99, The Goodship might be the best complete steel road race bike available right now. I definitely feel that for the price point, you are getting the most bang for your buck.”
Thanks The Radavist! We really appreciate it!!
THE BADSHIP: Ridden & Reviewed July 14, 2015
Bicycle Sports Shop wrote up a review talking about our latest creation, The Badship. This one of a kind specially painted Goodship frame and fork also got a special part build (and so we named it the Badship). They had the pleasure of sailing around on this black beauty for about a week, and you can read about their experience by clicking HERE. It’s also full of great insight into our Goodship frame and fork too:
“…But the bike is also point and shoot. Aim the Goodship at a turn and counter steer a bit and the bike holds a line like it’s nobody’s business. At speed or cruising town, the Goodship capably does what’s asked of it when it comes to handling. And that holds true out at the Driveway Series as well. Hanson at the Lamar store has a Goodship that stepped on the podium a few weeks back. Not for nothing but he rolled away from a bevy of guys on the latest aero everything and just missed the win taking second. All aboard a Goodship.”
Check out the full review and keep in mind the Badship will be auctioned off for a charity Aug.1 so it could be yours!
PS I just mistyped “Badship” as “BARship”. Could be a new bar cruising model!!

BSS Gravel Grinder and MJ Classic MTB race March 12, 2015
Our man Sandy Carson has been out and about riding bikes with his crew, The Sativa Rollers, and shooting photos. He sent over a little report…
Two weekends ago, we rode the Bicycle Sport Shop Gravel Grinder. It’s a 50 mile ride on a jeep road through Rocky Hill Ranch and Buescher State Park. It was bloody freezing rain!
Here’s a coupla photos from that-
A Bieszczady Field Trip February 5, 2015
Our friends from PNT Magazine took their Weekenders for a tour through the Bieszczady mountains on the edge of Poland. They came back with some of the most amazing photos! Thanks so much for sharing guys! You can download the latest PNT Magazine free from their website too. Read on to check out their adventure…
It was early autumn 2013 when the three of us decided to switch to bike touring. Bart and Dodo, avid fixie riders, were ready to move on to a different kind of biking (less taxing on the joints), I wanted to get out of the city and its immediate surroundings and start doing longer rides. Thus, an idea was born, a common goal which would see us debate, plan, map out, and finally set off on our first big journey. View More
Parser review from Cyclocross Magazine February 3, 2015
Cyclocross Magazine did a nice thorough review of our 2015 Parser for their issue 27. It’s worth a read even if your considering buying a Parser for more urban uses. Our Parser has morphed through the years into a tough urban single-speed that now is fairly adapted even to CX use. Thanks soooo much to Cyclocross Magazine and check the full review below OR, better yet check out the full issue on a news stand or digitally from the Cyclocross Magazine website. View More

Bike Biz editorial: the roots of Fairdale December 6, 2013
Bike Biz asked me to write a little piece on how I transitioned from hardcore BMX dude into bikes with bigger wheels. I got slightly off subject and ended up writing more about how I managed to stay in love with bikes all these years. The whole mag is pretty awesome (aimed at the bicycle industry). Check out my story on page 11. View it online here or download a PDF version of the mag here. Thanks Bike Biz! -Taj
Weekender Review from Footdown.co.uk November 11, 2013
The Foot Down put up a great review of the Weekender OG. If we can say anything about our bikes we’d like it to sound a bit like this: “This bike made my summer, I went places I never could have gone on my other bikes. In a single day I have taken it shopping with the rack on, commuted to work, cruised along the sea front and taken it into the wilds of Gower loaded up with camping gear. It’s a bike that does it all provided you don’t want to race, though you can drop a kid on an estate easily, little buggers.”

Camping in the wild by bike August 28, 2013
Tyron from The Foot Down put up a cool story about freestyle camping by bike (our Weekender in this case). If you ever thought about getting away for a bit here’s the simplest way to do it. No need to over complicate or over plan… just grab a few essentials and pedal down the road. Check out the story here.
